The Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Heidolph is one of the most extensively used test formats for the concentration and presence of specific proteins (for example, antibodies) in a specimen. An enzymatic color reaction determines the concentration of the target protein.
In ELISA, the cavities or wells of a multi-well plate are covered with the corresponding antigen to which the antibodies to be identified can attach. The separate wells are consecutively treated and then incubated with control, sample and substrate solutions at the time of the ELISA protocol.
In the midst of the process, washing steps with washing buffer are performed to prevent interfering signals in the photometric determination as well as inaccurate results.
While washing, a strong vortex shake movement is crucial in the separate cavities of the multi-well plate. Hence, robust shakers play a vital role in the ELISA workflow. Heidolph Instruments specializes in this area and provides two multi-well plate shakers, called the Titramax 100 and 1000, which are perfectly suited to this kind of task.
Titramax 100
- Space is available for four plates multi-well plates
- Powerful shaking ensures consistent results of washing steps
- Uniform vortex movement in each individual well
