Passengers on an Air Canada flight from Tel Aviv were briefly quarantined on their arrival at Toronto airport because of a health scare.
Seventy-five of 201 passengers on board Air Canada Flight 085 were detained after some of them became ill on the flight; three passengers who were part of an Israeli tour group visiting Toronto developed flu-like symptoms such as vomiting, nausea and diarrhea.
Seventy-five passengers were initially detained, however according to the Public Health Agency of Canada, quarantine officials and emergency responders determined that 47 of them had no symptoms and they were allowed to leave the airport; the rest apparently had symptoms of acute gastroenteritis and most were later released.
Public Health Agency of Canada says the three have been moved to a hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Health Canada is continuing to monitor the health of the passengers.
