The report concludes that in a value-based healthcare environment with cost constraints and growing procedure volumes, the value of a knee replacement implant is measured not only by how long the implant lasts (implant survivorship), but also through patient reported outcomes and the economic benefits of the procedure.

A study from Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) finds that in morbidly obese patients, bariatric surgery performed prior to a total hip or knee replacement can reduce in-hospital and 90-day postoperative complications and improve patient health, but it does not reduce the risk of needing a revision surgery.

ACB could lead to quicker, safer recovery after total knee arthroplasty
