Allegro: Fast and simple capillary blood analysis

Allegro* is a small, point-of-care (POC) analyzer that includes a clinically significant menu of 10 measured and individually selectable tests, as well as seven calculated tests. All tests are measured with ready-to-use, disposable cartridges or test strips and can be easily performed by non-technical personnel.

  • Real-time test results during the patient visit
  • Reduces patient follow-up visits and expenditure
  • Capillary fingerstick samples for all blood tests

Allegro uses a very small capillary blood drop for all blood tests, which eliminates the need for venipunctures or a trained phlebotomist. With cartridge test times of 6 to 9 minutes and the ability to measure two cartridges simultaneously, Allegro provides rapid results.

Getting the results during the patient visit — not after — is more effective for patient or clinician meetings; reduces letters, office calls, follow-up visits, and enhances patient compliance with care recommendations.

The only analyzer that measures all blood tests from a capillary sample

Simple execution of capillary sampling can be done by staff members, avoiding the need for trained phlebotomists, venipunctures and blood drawing needles and tubes. Allegro uses a small, 5-μL blood drop that makes testing almost painless for the patient.

Capillary sample meter tests

The StatStrip meter wirelessly sends patient-identified test results to the analyzer where they are integrated with the cartridge test results in a single patient report.

  • Lab-like results can be obtained
  • It is the only glucose meter FDA cleared for critical care

Simple testing procedure

Simple testing procedures can be easily performed by office staff. Patient ID and cartridge test assay information are automatically entered using the onboard barcode scanner. Results are automatically printed and stored in the Allegro database once the analysis is completed. The results are then sent to the electronic medical record (EMR) for clinician viewing.
