Psychologist Dr. Jeffrey Gardere , Professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and mental health consultant to various television programs, today announced the launch of his Healthy Divorce App. The mobile application makes the lessons Dr. Jeff has learned from over two decades of helping individuals through every stage of the divorce process available to anyone with a mobile device. Developed by Rozilo, Inc., the Healthy Divorce app is available for both Apple and Android devices and sells for $1.99, making professional mental health assistance more affordable and accessible than ever before.
"The number of divorces taking place on a daily basis in this country is staggering," Dr. Gardere said. "But the number of people seeking out professional help is minimal in comparison; hopefully this app can offer help to those unwilling or unable to see a professional in person."
The app focuses in large part on helping the user understand the different stages of the divorce process and the emotions associated with each of those stages. According to Gardere, this will allow users to understand what they are going through, to know what to expect, and, "perhaps most importantly, that they are not alone in feeling the way they do."
The Healthy Divorce App integrates a variety of media — text, audio, and video — created by Dr. Jeff to guide users through the divorce process. Dr. Jeff will write weekly essays to share his perspective on a variety of divorce-related topics. It also allows users to submit questions anonymously to Dr. Jeff, who will answer one inquiry daily and make both the question and his answer available to all the app's users.
No other app dispenses professional advice for individuals experiencing a divorce. The app positions itself for success by allowing users to anonymously seek out help for feelings most people prefer to keep private. Rather than going to a friend or family member, which may be uncomfortable, the user can learn from — and even interact with — an experienced mental health professional in literally any setting they choose.
