Telemed Solutions launches the TM-12, a PC-based wireless resting 12 lead EKG

Telemed Solutions, a cardiac device company, announced today the release of its initial product, the TM-12.  The TM-12 is a PC-based wireless 12-Lead EKG system.  It embeds a Bluetooth radio into an ECG acquisition device, then streams that ECG data from the patient to a standard Windows computer.

Telemed Solutions CEO Ken Burns expects this release to mark a significant transformation in the way 12 Lead EKG devices are viewed by physicians.

“By significantly reducing EKG equipment to the size of a holter and incorporating wireless technology we feel this is a much needed breakthrough the industry has been waiting for,” Burns said.  “We’ve seen significant advancements in wireless technology.  There’s no reason the medical field shouldn’t benefit from these advancements.”

Telemed Solutions expects general practitioners, cardiologists and electrophysiologists to embrace this new style of wireless EKG.

“12 Lead reports can now be exported to electronic format and emailed to a physician’s phone. These are fairly new concepts in the world of EKG. The TM-12 was designed to streamline workflow in a physician’s office.  Our system will raise the standard for what type of equipment physicians will want in their offices,” Burns said.

The TM-12 uses the University of Glasgow ECG Analysis program as its Interpretation engine.  The University of Glasgow 12-lead ECG Analysis Algorithm has more than 35 years of history and is considered one of the top three resting ECG interpretive algorithms in the world.

“The most important part of any EKG machine is to give a thorough and accurate  interpretation.  We chose the Glasgow program because of its rich tradition and ongoing development efforts. We feel Glasgow is the best algorithm in the industry,” Burns said.

Telemed Solutions features a development team with over 70 combined years in the medical industry.  Telemed’s engineering specialties include: wireless design, cloud development, and integration into medical device suites.
