Continental Anesthesia expands delivery of quality anesthesia care in Presence Health System

Continental Anesthesia announced it has signed a new contract to be the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at five hospitals within the Presence Health System. This agreement continues Continental's best-practice services at Presence Resurrection Medical Center, Presence Saint Francis Hospital, and Presence Holy Family Medical Center, and adds new service at Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center and Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. This agreement builds on a 40-year relationship between the organizations and has been expanded in the spirit of partnership to deliver quality anesthesia care to the patients and medical providers in the Presence Health system.

Dr. Madison Sample, Jr., Continental's President and Chief Medical Officer, commented, "This agreement represents Continental's commitment to support Presence Health as it prepares for the full implementation of healthcare reform. We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Presence Health by providing the highest-quality patient care combined with key clinical and operational data delivered through our exclusive DashboardOR™ application."

Presence Health is the largest Catholic health system based in Illinois. It was created in November 2011 through the merger of Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care, and comprises over 150 locations including 12 hospitals, 27 long-term care and senior living facilities and dozens of affiliated physician offices and health centers. Continental has a long history of providing service at Presence Health facilities dating back to 1973 at Saint Francis Hospital.

Founder and CEO, Dr. Howard Schechter, added, "We are pleased to extend our four-decade long service at Presence Health that has grown from a single site into a system partnership. As we grow, our commitment will remain to providing quality care to patients and outstanding service to our medical colleagues at Presence Health."
