ContextVision to launch new groundbreaking product for 3D ultrasound at RSNA 2014

At the upcoming 100th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of RSNA, ContextVision, will launch a new groundbreaking product range for 3D ultrasound. The new second generation of 3D volume processing and the photo-like 3D rendering software provides new features that brings 3D imaging to a higher level. The products offer a higher diagnostic value and support further use of 3D ultrasound.

Higher Medicaid reimbursements for routine office visits linked to more cancer screening tests

Medicaid reimbursements for office visits to the doctor and for cancer screening tests vary substantially from state to state. New research in the journal Cancer finds that Medicaid recipients are more likely to receive cancer screening tests when their doctors receive higher reimbursements for routine office visits. In contrast, increased reimbursement rates for screening tests do not have a uniform effect on whether Medicaid beneficiaries get screened.

Scientists discover second wave of heart muscle inflammation within a week after heart attack

Results of a new study challenge the current consensus in cardiology that peak myocardial edema, or heart muscle swelling, only occurs just after a myocardial infarction, or heart attack. In the study, presented as a Late-Breaking Clinical Trial at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions 2014 and published simultaneously in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, scientists discovered a second wave of swelling and inflammation occurs within a week of a heart attack.
