Study finds link between poor infant sleep and behavioral problems at toddler stage

A study recently published in Developmental Neuropsychology finds a definite link between poor infant sleep and compromised attention and behavior at the toddler stage. The research discovered that one-year-olds who experienced fragmented sleep were more likely to have difficulties concentrating and to exhibit behavioral problems at three and four years of age.

Immunovia and OHSU team up to validate, commercialize blood test for early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer

Immunovia AB and the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University formed a collaboration to confirm, validate and commercialize a blood test for the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The test called IMMray™ PanCan-d analyses a patient's immune system for early signs of disease. The collaboration will also enable researchers to explore biomarkers for a number of other cancer types.

Ambry Genetics presents groundbreaking TP53 gene data at ASHG; TP53 linked to breast cancer

Ambry Genetics (Ambry), a leader in clinical genetic diagnostics and genetics software solutions, has announced new data affirming the effectiveness of multi-gene panel testing (MGPT) in identifying TP53 gene mutations in people who might otherwise not have been tested. The findings, presented as a poster at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) 2015 Annual Meeting in Baltimore, includes data collected from more than 25,000 individuals having TP53 testing, of which 187 were positive. The tested cohort is the largest to date from a single testing laboratory.

Virtual models can be created in the angiography room thanks to an approach developed by researchers at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Centre and the university's departments of radiology, radiation oncology, and nuclear medicine.
