Electromyograph Machines (EMG)

An electromyograph is a machine used to detect and record the electrical potential generated by muscle cells when they are activated. These signals can be analyzed to detect medical abnormalities or to analyze the biomechanics of movement. Available in two forms, surface electromyogrphs detect activity through electrodes placed on the surface of the skin while intramuscular versions detect activity through needles inserted directly into the muscle.
