Data on Puredel's Ossulin to be presented at the San Francisco Diabetes Technology Meeting

The first public data on Ossulin™ a new oral insulin product, will be presented today at the 9th Annual Diabetes Technology Meeting in San Francisco, CA. Ossulin™ is being developed by Puredel Limited, a joint-venture between the European pharmaceutical specialty company CM&D Pharma Limited and Natreon Inc., New Brunswick, NJ., developers of the proprietary delivery platform.

By a growing consensus, defining the "silent" phase of AD has become the field's central challenge if it is to modernize drug testing and lay the groundwork for AD prevention trials.

FDA grants orphan drug designation for Sunesis Pharmaceuticals' voreloxin

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted voreloxin orphan drug designation for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Sunesis is currently conducting two Phase 2 clinical trials of voreloxin in AML: a single-agent study, known as REVEAL-1, of voreloxin in newly diagnosed elderly AML patients unlikely to benefit from standard induction chemotherapy and a study evaluating voreloxin in combination with cytarabine in relapsed/refractory AML.

For the first time, researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center have reported the use of a radiolabeled antibody to deliver targeted doses of radiation, followed by a stem cell transplant, to successfully treat a group of leukemia and pre-leukemia patients for whom there previously had been no other curative treatment options.
