Accuray Incorporated, a global leader in the field of radiosurgery, announced today that 28 CyberKnife-focused abstracts have been accepted as part of the 51st Annual Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), taking place November 1 - 5 in Chicago, Illinois. This represents a 27 percent increase in CyberKnife abstracts over last year's Annual Meeting.

Genetic susceptibility study for Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma awarded $7.9M grant

Thomas Vaughan, M.D., head of the Epidemiology Program in the Public Health Sciences Division of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, has received a three-year, $7.9 million grant from the National Cancer Institute to study genetic susceptibility for Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma, a rapidly fatal cancer whose incidence has increased more than 500 percent in the past 30 years, faster than any other cancer in the United States.

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals enrolls 113 patients in voreloxin REVEAL-1 trial

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today reported that it has completed enrollment in the REVEAL-1 (Response Evaluation of VorEloxin in AmL) trial, a Phase 2 dose regimen optimization trial of single agent voreloxin in newly diagnosed elderly acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients who are unlikely to benefit from standard induction chemotherapy. A total of 113 patients were enrolled and dosed according to one of three dosing schedules.
