NCI selects Integral Molecular to map epitopes for monoclonal antibodies

Integral Molecular, Inc. has been selected by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to map epitopes for monoclonal antibodies directed against cancer biomarkers. Protein targets of interest to the Clinical Cancer Proteomics community will be analyzed using Shotgun Mutagenesis Mapping technology to identify amino acids that are essential for antibody binding, allowing the discovery and characterization of cancer-specific biomarkers.

More than 300,000 women from across the U.S. have signed up for the Love/Avon Army of Women creating a nationwide movement to eradicate breast cancer. Eighty percent of the women who have joined the Army of Women have never had breast cancer, but want to play a role in ending the disease once and for all.

Fast track assessment facilities can contribute to timely evaluation of lung malignancies

Research published in the October 2009 issue of the Journal of Thoracic Oncology has found an effective combination of positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) (PET/CT) tests to diagnose lung cancer in a "fast-tracked" outpatient setting. This novel approach to the diagnosis of lung cancer demonstrated a high level of sensitivity (97%) and accuracy (82%).

Sangamo BioSciences, Inc. announced today that research led by Donald B. Merrimack and sanofi-aventis collaborate to develop and co-commercialize MM-121, a monoclonal antibody

Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and sanofi-aventis announced today the signing of an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement for the development and co-commercialization of MM-121, a first-in-class, fully human monoclonal antibody designed to block signaling of the ErbB3 receptor. MM-121 is currently in Phase 1 clinical testing.
