FDA accepts Antares Pharma's Anturol NDA for filing, assigns PDUFA date

Antares Pharma, Inc. today announced the New Drug Application (NDA) for Anturol® Gel in patients with overactive bladder (OAB) was accepted for filing for review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Anturol is an oxybutynin gel incorporating Antares' ATD Gel technology.

Shionogi launches CUVPOSA for pediatric chronic severe drooling

Shionogi Inc., the U.S.-based group company of Shionogi & Co., Ltd., today announced the U.S. commercial availability of CUVPOSA™ (glycopyrrolate) oral solution, the first and only FDA-approved treatment to reduce chronic severe drooling in patients aged 3 to 16 with neurologic conditions associated with problem drooling, such as cerebral palsy.

Results of study evaluating potential inhibitory effects of PPIs on Plavix presented at ACC 2011

Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. announced the presentation of new study results, which evaluated the potential inhibitory effects of certain proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) on Plavix (clopidogrel bisulfate). The results showed that in healthy subjects, clopidogrel's active metabolite and inhibition of platelet function were reduced less by the co-administration of clopidogrel with dexlansoprazole or lansoprazole, rather than esomeprazole.

Cubist enters license agreement with Teva to dismiss CUBICIN patent lawsuit

Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Teva Parenteral Medicines, Inc., Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., which includes a stipulation by the parties requesting dismissal of the lawsuit filed by Cubist in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware relating to the Abbreviated New Drug Application filed by TPM with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a generic version of CUBICIN.

Intra-Cellular Therapies, Inc. ("ITI") and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, today announced that they have entered into an exclusive collaboration to develop and commercialize selective phosphodiesterase type 1 (PDE1) inhibitors, discovered by ITI, for the treatment of cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia. This agreement is targeted worldwide, but ITI has retained the option to co-promote with Takeda in the United States.
