The National Association For Continence (NAFC) is heading a newly formed council with the objective of establishing national, independent quality standards for disposable adult absorbent products provided by states to Medicaid waiver recipients cared for in their private homes rather than as residents of a state-funded nursing home.

Ventrus prices initial public offering at $6.00 per share

Ventrus Biosciences Inc., a pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing gastrointestinal products, today announced the pricing of its initial public offering of 2,900,000 shares at $6.00 per share. The shares are expected to begin trading tomorrow, December 17, 2010 on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the symbol "VTUS". In addition, Ventrus has granted the underwriters a 45-day option to purchase up to an additional 435,000 shares to cover over-allotments, if any.

Preliminary results from Phase 1b/2a trial of MediciNova's ibudilast in opioid addicts announced

Drug addiction investigators with joint appointments at Columbia University Medical Center and the New York State Psychiatric Institute along with MediciNova Inc, a biopharmaceutical company publicly traded on the Nasdaq Global Market and the Jasdaq Market of the Osaka Securities Exchange, today reported preliminary results of the company's neurological drug candidate, ibudilast (MN-166/AV411), in a Phase 1b/2a trial in opioid addicts. The study was largely funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) with MediciNova supplementation.
