Moreover it provides preliminary results on potential redistribution effects of home care benefits (based on SHARE data).

Elsevier launches new tool to help editors find reviewers

Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and solutions, announced today the launch of a new and unique tool to help editors find reviewers ( http://support.elsevier.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/710), which addresses the number one pain point for journal editors. Developed in close consultation with journal editors, this tool which is accessible from EES - Elsevier's Editorial and peer review system - suggests a list of potential reviewers.

Omnicare, Inc. and Walgreen Co. today announced a transaction in which Omnicare will acquire substantially all of the assets of Walgreens long-term care pharmacy business. In exchange, Walgreens will acquire substantially all of the assets of Omnicare's home infusion business.

Urban Institute/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation: The Health Status Of New Medicaid Enrollees Under Health Reform - Using the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, authors of this paper found "strong evidence that those who will enroll [in Medicaid after 2014] are likely to be healthier than nondisabled adults currently enrolled in Medicaid ... There is, however, a high likelihood of adverse selection - the least healthy and older among the new eligibles will be more likely to enroll.

Celgene receives Paragraph IV Certification Letter on submission of ANDA for REVLIMID

Celgene Corporation today announced it has received a Paragraph IV Certification Letter advising that Natco Pharma Limited of Hyderabad, India, submitted an Abbreviated New Drug Application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The application requests authorization to manufacture and market generic versions of REVLIMID (lenalidomide) 5, 10, 15 and 25 mg capsules in the United States.

Hospital for Special Surgery achieves lower than state average rate for infections

For the second year in a row, Hospital for Special Surgery is the only hospital in New York State with an infection rate that is significantly lower than the state average for hip replacement or revision surgeries, according to the 2009 report on hospital infection rates released today by the State Department of Health.

Survival rates overall for childhood cancer are almost 80 percent—a marked advance against a disease that was curable in only a small fraction of children 50 years ago. AMIA launches non-profit Global Health Informatics Partnership

AMIA, the U.S.-based association for informatics professionals, has launched a non-profit, wholly owned subsidiary organization called the Global Health Informatics Partnership (GHIP) to serve as an international center for collaborative initiatives on health informatics. With generous operational support from AMIA, GHIP, aims to build grassroots networks of health informatics advocates and professionals that will result in strengthened health informatics capacity in low-resource settings, primarily in South America, Africa, and Asia.
