New book relates mercury in vaccines to autism

The U.S. government revealed last week that they will compensate a family millions of dollars for their daughter's injury related to her infant vaccines that contained mercury and the subsequent development of autism. Yet, the CDC continues to tell the public that there is no connection between vaccines and autism and that the mercury has been removed, although the flu shot recommended for all pregnant women, infants, and children continues to be preserved with mercury.

Scientists from The Scripps Research Institute have solved a long-standing mystery of how cells conduct "quality control" to eliminate the toxic effects of a certain kind of error in protein production. The findings may lead to a better understanding of a host of neurodegenerative diseases.

Diamyd Medical reports potential results on NP2 Phase I clinical trial for chronic pain

Diamyd Medical AB, to date no drug related Serious Adverse Events have been reported by any patient included in Diamyd's Phase I clinical trial investigating NP2 as a potential therapy for chronic pain. Based upon the Phase I findings to date, the company is planning a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled Phase II clinical trial with NP2 in the United States.

Researchers find minocycline antibiotics effective for fragile X syndrome

New VA regulation helps to get recognition, treatment for three disorders in Agent Orange exposure

A new VA regulation adding three health conditions to the list of those presumed to have been caused by exposure to the toxic defoliant Agent Orange during the Vietnam War was published this week. Researchers at Queen's University have found that people with Parkinson's disease can perform automated tasks better than people without the disease, but have significant difficulty switching from easy to hard tasks.
