Bristol-Myers Squibb Company today announced results from a Phase 2 and a Phase 1b study of its investigational PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor nivolumab in patients with advanced or metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC), commonly known as kidney cancer.

RPCI research finds patients with metastatic kidney cancer benefit from HDIL-2 immunotherapy

A retrospective study published online ahead of print in the medical journal Urology by a physician team from Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) found that patients with metastatic kidney cancer — even those with chronic renal insufficiency — can tolerate and benefit from a treatment called high-dose interleukin-2 (HDIL-2) immunotherapy.

FDA accepts Merck's MK-3475 BLA for review

Merck, known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted for review the Biologics License Application (BLA) for MK-3475, Merck's investigational anti-PD-1 antibody, for the treatment of unresectable or metastatic melanoma in patients who have been previously treated with ipilimumab.
