EDMA, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association is proud to announce that the multilingual website, Lab Tests Online is now also available in Czech. The website, an online encyclopaedia on laboratory testing and related conditions, has been developed in Czech by the Czech Society of Clinical Biochemistry, CSKB, in cooperation with the national and European Diagnostics industry associations, CZEDMA and EDMA.
Lab Tests Online is an online source of information designed to help patients and care-givers better inform themselves about the tests they have been prescribed, the conditions usually related to the assays, and how the success of the treatment is evaluated. In this way Lab Tests Online enlightens citizens and physicians about the diverse and advantageous contributions of laboratory medicine to health protection and care.
As its predecessors, the German, Hungarian, Italian, Spanish, and Polish versions, the Lab_Tests_Online cz has been created as a result of an agreement signed between the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) and EDMA to translate and adapt the award winning US version to fit the needs of the varied European audiences. The work to translate and modify the content to reflect national health care policy and practice in each European country, as well as to publish and distribute the website in European languages is always the result of cooperation between 3 partners: EDMA, its National Associations and Professional Users Societies in different countries. Thus, Lab Tests Online is translated, extended and localised in each country by the national scientific society for Clinical Chemistry, with the support of the In Vitro Diagnostic industry.
All the national sites provide explicit information on clinical laboratory testing and adhere to the same non-commercial and peer-review policies. As a result the German version has already been trust marked with the HONCode, a sign of quality and reliability in health information; the other versions are currently applying for it.
