Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Geisinger Health System to launch an eICU Program. The Philips VISICU eICU(R) Program combines early warning alerts and remote monitoring technology to connect off-site critical care specialists with intensive care unit (ICU) patients and their bedside care teams. Geisinger is expected to leverage the program's proven track record of reducing medical complications and improving the care provided to patients.
