Health Information Resource Center recognizes SHPS, presents nine awards

SHPS, a leading provider of health improvement and health benefits solutions, received nine awards for its healthcare communications in the 2009 National Health Information Awards(SM) program.

Organized by the Health Information Resource Center (HIRC), a national clearinghouse for consumer health programs and materials, this awards program recognizes the nation's best consumer health information.

SHPS was honored with a gold award for its Nourish: Carewise Personal Wellness Program workbook for nutrition. Its Shine: Carewise Personal Wellness Program workbook for pre-disease (pre-diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and high cholesterol) and Journey: Carewise Personal Wellness Program journal received bronze awards. Bronze awards were also given to its nurse line communications, CareWise Guide: Self-Care From Head To Toe book and a client-specific, co-branded new member kit. In addition, the Carewise Personal Wellness Program earned merit awards for its weight management program, exercise program, and awareness poster.

"Our materials are a key component of SHPS' holistic approach to managing and improving individual health," says Krishnan Sastry, SHPS' executive vice president of strategic development and innovation. "We are proud to once again be recognized for our thoughtful approach to communications."

SHPS includes its award-winning communications as part of its standard product delivery. Custom communications campaigns can be used to further engage, educate, and drive participation in client-branded health and benefit programs. Through personalization, consistent messaging, and multiple delivery channels, SHPS' communications address the needs of all employees--regardless of their health status.

"We want to be a valuable partner in each individual's journey to a healthier future," adds Sastry. "HIRC recognition is additional proof that SHPS fulfills that goal."
