Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (NYSE: DGX), the world's leading provider of diagnostic testing, information and services, today announced that it was again selected to be part of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes and North America Indexes (DJSI World and DJSI North America). The company is in its sixth year on the World Index (since 2004) and in its fifth on the North American Index (since 2005).
According to Sustainable Asset Management (SAM), an investment boutique based in Zurich, Switzerland, which publishes the indexes together with Dow Jones Indexes and STOXX, its selection process follows "a best-in-class approach and includes sustainability leaders from each industry on a global and regional level respectively. The annual review of the DJSI family is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change mitigation, supply chain standards and labor practices. It accounts for general as well as industry specific sustainability criteria for each of 58 sectors defined according to the Industry Classification Benchmark."
