Legacy Hospital Partners, Inc. is now LHP Hospital Group, Inc., (LHP). The organization has changed its name as it repositions for future growth.
“Our new name reflects the direction of the organization’s efforts to continue to build our business. The word ‘legacy’ denotes the past, while we are embarking on a bright future,” said Dan Moen, Chief Executive Officer, LHP. “Although our name has changed, we remain dedicated to building hospital partnerships based on a collaborative culture and shared governance and to providing the capital that can transform opportunities into reality.”
LHP management pioneered the joint venture business model, which helps not-for-profit hospitals take advantage of opportunities to expand and grow. LHP partners with hospitals by providing capital and management expertise, allowing LHP and the hospital to work cooperatively in a joint venture structure.
“Whether we replace, recapitalize, expand or acquire a hospital, the hospital governing board and physicians can feel confident that we know how to serve the community’s best interests because of our management team’s unparalleled experience in working with not-for-profit hospitals,” said Denny Shelton, Chairman of the Board, LHP. “Hospitals are one of any community’s greatest assets. It is important that they not only survive this difficult economic time, but thrive.”
LHP recently created a joint venture to own and operate Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID. As a result of the joint venture, Portneuf Medical Center broke ground on a new $150 million facility that includes among its features 13 operating rooms and endoscopy rooms, 297,500 square feet of space and 187 beds. The building will also be designed in substantial compliance with the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards as set for in the Green Guide for Health Care. The hospital will utilize sustainable building strategies to reduce operating costs, provide a healthier working environment and reduce the overall environmental impact of the project.
“Our partnership with LHP has been mutually rewarding,” said Mark Buckalew, Chairman, Portneuf Health Care Foundation Board of Directors. “It has provided us with the capital and guidance to ensure our hospital’s rebirth was on the right terms for our patients, physician and community.”
