BIOBASE and Erasmus MC to launch training and application center

BIOBASE GmbH, in cooperation with Erasmus Medical Center (MC), announced today that they will collaborate to establish a Center of Excellence at Erasmus MC for the application of BIOBASE products. The Center will focus on serving the data analysis, training, and support needs of the user community at Erasmus as well as research communities from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and other countries, through on-site courses.

Prof. Dr. P.J. van der Spek, Head of the Department of Bioinformatics at Erasmus MC, stated: “In our experience, the BIOBASE Knowledge LibraryTM and ExPlainTM Analysis System offer unique solutions for exploring biological data and studying transcription profiles in various therapeutic areas which fit perfectly in our efforts in clinical and translational research. We feel offering hands-on training will provide a valuable service to the research community within and beyond the borders of Erasmus MC.”

"We feel honored to extend our excellent relationship with Erasmus MC” said Prof. Dr. Edgar Wingender, President and CSO of BIOBASE and Professor at Goettingen University. “By sharing our experience in bioinformatics research and development with such a reputable institution, we will help researchers to better understand their microarray, proteomics, and next generation sequencing data, while continuously improving our tools according to the needs of leading-edge research."

Financial terms and conditions of the collaboration were not disclosed.
