IASIS Healthcare implements the Medicity Novo Grid solution to exchange health information electronically

Medicity, Inc. today announced that IASIS Healthcare went live with the Medicity Novo Grid solution in two (Florida and Utah) of its six regions. The solution enables IASIS to exchange health information electronically with providers connected on the Grid – whether the providers use an electronic health record (EHR) or operate a paper-based practice.

“Our physicians vary in terms of workflow, EHR adoption and system choice,” said IASIS Chief Information Officer Brian Loflin. “With Medicity’s Novo Grid, we can give physicians the information they need to treat patients, complement the level of technology currently used in their practice and enable them to choose the EHR solution that best fits their practice’s needs.”

The Medicity technology allows IASIS, which owns and operates 16 hospital facilities, to send real-time patient information that is integrated directly into an EHR. Providers without EHRs can access and print patient information securely via a Web-based dropbox.

Kipp Lassetter, M.D., Medicity’s CEO, notes, “The Medicity Novo Grid enables IASIS to electronically exchange patient information securely and rapidly with practices regardless of which EHR those practices have adopted or whether that practice is still paper-based or in transition to an automated state. With providers ‘on the Grid,’ IASIS is able to build affinity with all of its affiliated providers, improve clinical workflow and enhance patient care.”

IASIS is currently interfacing with McKesson's Practice Partner EHR on the Grid. The hospital system plans to interface with additional EHR vendors, implement ordering capability across the Grid and expand deployment to its remaining regions.
