ProSperus, Genesis Physicians Group launch GenPro Practice Management Solutions

ProSperus, a Mequon, Wis.,-based, full-service practice management company, and Genesis Physicians Group, a Dallas-based independent physicians association (IPA), today announced the launch of GenPro Practice Management Solutions. The joint venture will enable physicians to capitalize on the current federal stimulus incentive for electronic media record (EMR) adoption. Additionally, GenPro will help physicians retain a sharp focus on patient care instead of back-office needs and, ultimately, improve the financial and clinical performance of their practices. As a full-service practice management resource, GenPro offers Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) services in addition to other a la carte services, such as consulting, practice analysis, collections and human resources.

“Although we were seeking an efficient, integrated and accountable RCM system, which we found through ProSperus, now we also can offer physicians a full-service consulting resource that enables them to capitalize on the current federal stimulus incentive for EMR adoption,” said Ron Lutz, president and CEO of Genesis Physicians Group. “We believe that ProSperus will help our physicians select and implement the right EMR.”

Through the American Relief and Recovery Act of 2009, reimbursements ranging from $44,000 to $64,000 for each physician will be made starting in 2011 and ending in 2014. To qualify for the incentive, physician practices must adopt certified EMRs that are able to exchange information with other healthcare entities, such as labs, ancillary providers, pharmacies, etc.

“Through ProSperus’ best-in-class software and services, 19 years of market experience and its client base of more than 500 physicians nationwide, GenPro will provide a complete suite of personalized practice management services,” said Tom McBride, CEO of ProSperus. “Our solutions can be tailored to best fit members’ needs, allowing them to focus on patient satisfaction and clinical excellence, while also improving efficiency, increasing productivity and enhancing performance.”

GenPro services are available to the more than 1,400 members of Genesis Physicians Group throughout North Texas, as well as to non-member physicians in the region. In 2010, the IPA will offer GenPro technology and services to physicians throughout the entire state of Texas.
