2009 Mini-Psych School Program dispels myths surrounding mental illness

The Mental Illness Awareness Week is coming up, from October 4 to 10. On this occasion, Joseph Rochford, Ph.D., Director of the Academic Affairs at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, presents his top ten list of myths about mental illness.

The 4th Mini-Psych School at the Douglas Institute is now accepting registrations

Dr Rochford is also hosting and supervising the fourth edition of the Douglas Mini-Psych School. This year, the Mini-Psych School will help participants to explore - and dispel - the myths surrounding mental illness that persist to this day. "Our team of Mini-Psych School professors, made up of Douglas clinicians and researchers, will present the facts about mental illness with a renewed program and courses that will be held in English," said Joseph Rochford.

2009 Mini-Psych School Program, (in English this year) Every Tuesday from October 27 to December 1 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Douglas Hall at the Douglas Institute. - Course 1: Top Ten List of Myths About Mental Illness - Course 2: How Blue is Blue? - Depression and Burnout - Course 3: The Ups and Downs of Bipolar Disorders - Course 4: The "Skinny" on Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa - What's New about Eating Disorders? - Course 5: The Delusions about Schizophrenia and Psychosis - Course 6: You Can Go Home Again - The Recovery Movement
