Recognizing its leadership in meeting the needs of economic, environmental, and social stakeholders, Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) has been named a member company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for North America and the FTSE4Good Index Series.
In addition, the company was ranked No. 2 in the Healthcare Industry Sector of Newsweek Magazine’s 2009 Green Rankings published in the Sept. 28, 2009 issue. Medtronic was included in the top 15 percent of the 500 companies ranked in the magazine’s first-ever Green Rankings report, which looks at results of a Green Policies Score, an Environmental Impact Score and a Reputation Score to rank the 500 largest U.S.-based companies.
