Chamberlin Edmonds and Associates to help improve patient access to state and federal benefit programs

Chamberlin Edmonds and Associates, Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive patient eligibility services to hospitals, today announced that it was selected by Sky Lakes Medical Center (Klamath Falls, Ore.) to help improve patient access to state and federal benefit programs. Eligibility specialists from Chamberlin Edmonds will work at the hospital to guide patients through complex application processes to secure federal and state benefits for medical care.

Chamberlin Edmonds’ eligibility services include Medicaid, SSI, Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits (SSDIB), Medicare, state disability and charity care, as well as many community programs. The firm’s professional guidance, from application through follow-up, is offered at no cost to patients.

“We believe the familiarity that Chamberlin Edmonds has with Oregon state programs, along with its expertise on the national level, will help improve our success in obtaining coverage for under- and uninsured patients,” says Andrew Molatore, Director of Patient Financial Services, at Sky Lakes Medical Center. “This is a true win for patients: They will receive the care they need and the coverage they deserve.”

Kirk Reid, Executive Vice President of Chamberlin Edmonds, says, “We are excited at the prospect of working with Sky Lakes. The medical center has an excellent reputation for providing high quality care and excellent community service. Chamberlin Edmonds is committed to serving as patient advocates to ensure care is extended to more patients.”

This new contract signals ongoing growth in the Northwest region for Chamberlin Edmonds, as the firm also continues work with PeaceHealth hospitals in Alaska, Oregon and Washington; three St. Charles Medical Center hospitals in central Oregon; Asante Health System in southern Oregon; and two of the Multicare Health System hospitals in Tacoma, Washington.
