Boehringer Ingelheim is a group of companies dedicated to researching, developing, manufacturing and marketing novel products of high therapeutic value for human and veterinary medicine. It is one of the world’s 20 leading pharmaceutical companies. Boehringer Ingelheim’s business areas include Prescription Medicines, Consumer Health Care and Biopharmaceuticals, as well as Pharma Chemicals and Animal Health. The German research and development activities are consolidated on the research campus in Biberach.
Boehringer Ingelheim is especially specifically on increasing the efficiency of its R&D activities – also in the area of Bioanalytics. Following the implementation of a new LIMS for the company’s location in Biberach, the selection of an efficient reporting solution was an important step towards the further optimisation of bioanalytical processes. With automated preparation of bioanalytical registration reports, by means of a high-performing and secure software solution, Boehringer Ingelheim is setting a new benchmark for the holistic management of registration-relevant bioanalytical data. In a selection procedure, iStudyReporter Bioanalytics was able to clearly out-perform the other more common competitive solutions. The determining factor here was its preconfigured solutions, which, without any adaptations, enabled iStudyReporter Bioanalytics to meet by far the most company-specific requirements for the production of bioanalytical reports. In addition, flexible report types and evaluation options are provided and can be simply and individually configured to meet further requirements. "iStudyReporter eliminates labour intensive and potentially error prone manual interim steps. Integration into the existing IT infrastructure: i.e. data transfer from Watson LIMS and integration into our existing documentation system is problem-free, so we guarantee the necessary transparency and safety of our registration-relevant data.” Dr. Martina Wein, LIMS Project Leader, thus summed up the implementation of iStudyReporter Bioanalytics at the Boehringer Ingelheim plant – productive start end of 2009.
