CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced that the Georgia Hospital Health Services (GHHS), a subsidiary of the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA), has selected CSC's HealthSpace Advisor, a Web-based benchmarking tool introduced earlier this year, to help member hospitals analyze how effectively they use space in key revenue generating areas.
Available by subscription, HealthSpace Advisor evaluates space productivity by analyzing departmental space allocation in relation to process improvements, financial indicators and staffing measures. The application also provides hospital administrators with information on enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing departmental revenue and improving quality of care.
"Maximizing the performance and value of new technologies requires hospital administrators to reexamine their use of space periodically," said Deward Watts, president of CSC's Healthcare Group. "HealthSpace Advisor provides hospitals with the most comprehensive space productivity dashboard by simultaneously examining key performance indicators, including the two highest cost elements - people and space."
"The comprehensive nature of HealthSpace Advisor makes it a valuable cost-saving tool for hospitals," said Glenn Pearson, executive vice president of GHA. "It will help member hospitals make significant improvements in efficiency that result in enhanced focus on patient care."
As part of the subscription, member hospitals will have round-the-clock access to the HealthSpace Advisor Member Network, a private online community, as well as CSC clinical experts in the key specialty areas of Emergency Department, Imaging/Radiology, Operating Room/Recovery Room and Intensive Care. Members also will receive four quarterly customized benchmarking reports prepared by CSC senior clinicians and planners. For more information visit www.csc.com/HSA.
