UHC selects RGIS to streamline inventory counting services

The University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) today announced that it has awarded a 3-year agreement to RGIS, based in Auburn Hills, Mich, for inventory counting services. The agreement, which has 2 automatic 1-year renewal periods, became effective on September 1, 2009.

RGIS provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive inventory counting services for all areas within hospitals, including pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, materials, equipment, and central supply.

RGIS' services will enable UHC members to:

  • Control and minimize inventory counting costs
  • Streamline and shorten the inventory counting process
  • Obtain an objective, accurate count
  • Use inventory information as a competitive advantage

RGIS will provide UHC members with an electronic report that can easily be downloaded to their back-office systems. Members can also access inventory results via a secure Web site; the results are posted 12 hours after the inventory has been completed.

RGIS' results are SAS70 certified, and RGIS guarantees the accuracy of every inventory taken.

"We're pleased to partner with this highly professional and reliable company," said Cindy White, vice president of operations at UHC. "Its services will enable our members to optimize the quality and cost efficiency of their inventory processes."
