Discus Dental launches its newly redesigned Zoom Chairside Whitening Kit

Discus Dental®, LLC today announced the release of its newly redesigned Zoom® Chairside Whitening Kit, improving overall procedure ease of use and safety by reducing the total number of steps in the Zoom procedure.

The redesigned Zoom Chairside Whitening Kit reflects the company's commitment to continuous product development and improvement. "We know from ongoing conversations with our customers that any opportunity to enhance safety and efficiency in any dental procedure is paramount. The new Zoom kit does this, as well as increases procedure ROI for the practice," said Robert Cartagena, COO, Discus Dental. "We believe the new design will make the Zoom tooth whitening procedure 20-25% faster as well."

Elements of the newly redesigned Zoom Chairside Whitening Kit, for use with the Zoom2 and Zoom AP whitening lamps, include:

-- A new and innovative IsoPrep™ retractor that completely covers and protects lips from UV light while providing maximum access to teeth and gums; -- A new and improved Liquidam™ barrier material providing improved viscosity and 30% better UV protection of the soft tissue; -- A new Patient Post Care and Maintenance kit that includes materials and a case for custom trays, a syringe of Discus' NiteWhite® ACP or DayWhite® ACP take-home whitening gel and a syringe of Relief® ACP Oral Care Gel for sensitivity management, all presented in its own separate box for patients; -- A surgical suction tip for easier removal of the hydrogen peroxide gel; -- A pictorial "quick reference" guide that highlights the essential steps of isolation and whitening presented directly on the kit packaging for easy reference just prior or during a procedure.

The redesigned Zoom Chairside Whitening Kit is available in the United States and Canada now. Availability in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East is scheduled to begin December 2009 and continue throughout 2010.

Customer testing on the new Zoom kit confirms an easier and safer procedure, ultimately resulting in a practice's ability to increase the amount of Zoom procedures conducted while increasing patient safety and comfort.
