Simbionix USA Corporation, the world's leading developer of medical simulation systems, in collaboration with GORE Medical Products will be offering a PROcedure Rehearsal Studio(TM) workshop for the first time at the upcoming ICCA Meeting in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Simbionix PROcedure Rehearsal Studio(TM) is the world's first medical simulator to enable clinicians to create practice scenarios based on their patient's unique anatomy as reconstructed from real CT and MRI data. Based on the 3D image created by the simulator, the exact case data can be shared by the treating physician with other physicians, either for the purpose of receiving additional clinical consults, or to replicate and demonstrate completed procedures with strong teaching value to help mitigate risk in future procedures.
Simbionix, in collaboration with GORE Medical Products will invite delegates at the ICCA to participate in a unique workshop where they will be able to use the technology to practice real patient cases form their daily practice. This interactive workshop was arranged to help interventionists prefect their practice and in effect, train for their next patient. The workshop will take place at the GORE Lounge at the International Course on Carotid Angioplasty and Other Cerebrovascular Interventions (ICCA 09), in Frankfurt, Germany, on December 4-5, 2009. During the presentation, Simbionix will show both live and simulated cases.
Silvia Talco, Neurovascular European Product Manager at WL GORE & Associates adds: "We are very proud to be partnering with the leading team presenting the most innovative tools for carotid stenting. Training physicians is one of the main topics Gore focuses on, out of the belief that better training leads to better patient results."
