Nutricia North America improves its packaging with BPA-free lining for all powdered products

Nutricia North America, a manufacturer of medical foods and specialized infant formulas such as Neocate®, announced today that it has begun packaging its powdered medical foods and specialized infant formulas in cans with BPA-free lining.

“Nutricia has long been the leader in medical foods and specialized infant formulas tailored to meet the nutritional needs of infants, children and adults with a variety of specialized health conditions,” said Nigel Hughes, managing director of Nutricia North America. “Now we’re leading the product category again by taking that extra step to protect our customers ― typically the most vulnerable babies and children ― by improving our packaging with BPA-free lining for all our powdered products.”

Nutricia’s product line includes medical foods and formulas for the nutritional management of allergic, gastrointestinal, metabolic and neurological conditions. The company’s flagship product, Neocate, is an elemental formula comprised of non-allergenic amino acids. The product is used by infants and children with milk protein allergies and other gastrointestinal conditions, such as short bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease and eosinophilic esophagitis.

Neocate is manufactured in an entirely milk protein-free facility, yet another extra step Nutricia takes to ensure the safety of the babies and children who rely on this formula.

Customers with questions about the product packaging can call 1-800-NEOCATE for additional information.

The Nutricia North America products now packaged in cans with BPA-free lining include:

Neocate Infant, Neocate Infant with DHA & ARA, Neocate Nutra, Neocate Junior, KetoCal 3:1, KetoCal 4:1, Duocal, Monogen, the Periflex, Acerflex, Analog, Maxamaid and Maxamum line of products, PKU-2, PKU-3, MSUD-2, MSUD Aid, HOM-2, Methionaid, OS-2, and UCD 2.
