Additionally, all Take Care Clinics at select Walgreens stores in the Indianapolis area are currently offering H1N1 vaccinations. Walgreens and Take Care Health Systems are working closely with the Indiana State Department of Health to serve as a distribution partner for the H1N1 vaccine and a community resource for information on H1N1 immunization.

“This flu season, Walgreens has truly demonstrated its role as a go-to, trusted resource for flu prevention and health care services throughout Indiana and nationwide”

Any resident who wants an H1N1 vaccination and who meets state age requirements can receive an H1N1 vaccination at Walgreens, as the Indiana State Department of Health has recently lifted priority group vaccination restrictions. Walgreens pharmacists in Indiana can immunize those age 9 and older. Take Care Clinics can immunize patients age 2 and older.

Vaccinations are available on a walk-in basis when an immunizing pharmacist is on staff and may also be available by appointment. To find the nearest Walgreens location and for immunizing pharmacist hours, consumers are asked to call 1-800-Walgreens or visit www.walgreens.com/flu. Consumers can also contact a store directly to schedule an appointment.

Take Care Clinics, staffed by licensed nurse practitioners, are located at 10 Walgreens drugstores in the Indianapolis area and are offering H1N1 vaccinations on a walk-in basis seven days a week with extended evening and weekend hours. The cost for the administration of the H1N1 vaccine is $18. Vaccinations may be covered by Medicare and Medicaid. Consumers are encouraged to check with their insurance provider for coverage details.
