HaloSource signs agreement with WAL for the use of HaloPure disinfection cartridges in WAL’s products

HaloSource, a leading clean water company, has signed an agreement with WAL (S.A.), the Swiss-based international water filtration products company, for the use of HaloSource’s revolutionary HaloPure® disinfection cartridges in WAL’s jug and pitcher products.

“WAL is a major player in water filtration products, and our partnership greatly extends the distribution range of our unique technology, and builds on our successful existing arrangements in India, China and Brazil.”

WAL produces and distributes water filters and a range of renewable universal filter cartridges for use in a variety of pitcher brands internationally.

WAL will sell, distribute and market its jug and pitcher products, powered by HaloPure® disinfection cartridges, to all international markets, with an initial focus on South America, the Middle and Far East and Europe. HaloPure® technology will enable WAL’s products to effectively remove 99.9% of bacteria and viruses that may be present in source water, adding to the capabilities of its existing products which remove chlorine, lead, copper, zinc, nitrates and various other impurities that may be found in tap water. HaloPure® technology delivers water purification without the need to have access to electricity or water pressure.

Each HaloPure®-powered WAL cartridge will carry the Water Quality Association’s WQA Gold Seal certification for 3-log bacteria and virus kill.

HaloSource has existing partnership arrangements with Eureka Forbes in India, Chanitex in China and Everest in Brazil.

Earlier this year HaloPure® became the first new drinking water technology in more than a decade to be granted both Manufacture-For-Use and Device registrations by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). HaloPure® is a unique contact biocide technology that is proven to attack and kill a wide range of viable or harmful microorganisms and is approved for long-term use in a variety of markets, including the United States.

John Kaestle, Chief Executive of HaloSource, commented, “WAL is a major player in water filtration products, and our partnership greatly extends the distribution range of our unique technology, and builds on our successful existing arrangements in India, China and Brazil.

“Using HaloPure® disinfection cartridges in WAL’s products will provide affordable drinking water disinfection technology to millions of new customers worldwide in place of typical product solutions which require access to electricity. It’s a great opportunity for both our companies.”

Serge Hainich, President of WAL, stated, "We are excited that a variety of our products will now be HaloPure powered, assuring customers of the highest standards of bacteria and virus kill. We feel fortunate to have found a technology that provides outstanding results without the need for electricity and is simple for consumers to use.”
