The European Urology Forum, which is now entering its 19th year, will once again be held in Davos, Switzerland from 13-17 February 2010.
The format of the meeting is a combination of state-of-the-art sessions, hands-on training workshops, case studies and the 'Urological Challenge'.
"Participants in the Urological Challenge, young academic urologists, present a number of topics which they are experts in, in state-of-the-art lectures. With probing questions coming from the expert faculty there is a lively exchange of ideas and interesting discussions", says Chris Chapple, course director and EAU Adjunct Secretary General.
The programme will give participants a critical update on what's new in urology. The meeting annually attracts around 200 participants including clinicians and those coming from academic and urological research.
The Urology Forum stands out from other meetings because it not only deals with pertinent academic topics but also takes place in a relaxed environment where people can thoroughly examine the information that is presented.
"Participants can interact closely with each other. The Forum provides an ideal environment for academic exchange and for the development of new ideas, and a number of new thoughts and approaches have come out from this meeting," said Chapple.
The programme offers a line-up of sessions that will cover all major fields ranging from prostate, renal, testicular and bladder cancer to male diseases, female and paediatric urology, amongst others. The five-day meeting will also regularly hold laparoscopy workshops, video sessions, whilst at the same time providing participants to enjoy some free time.
"This meeting has at least eight hours of academic work which is being conducted per day," said Chapple as he mentioned the daily schedule and format of combining sessions in the morning, laparoscopy workshops at noon and the Urological Challenge at early evening.
