The Amerigroup Foundation has awarded a grant of $15,000 to the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. Given in recognition of the center's commitment to helping create and maintain healthy, safe communities, the grant will support the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center's continued efforts to improve the lives of the people it serves on a daily basis.
"The Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center has gone above and beyond in serving its community through commendable services such as free check-ups, screenings and health education," said John E. Littel, chairman of the Amerigroup Foundation. "We're pleased to support the center, whose mission is consistent with the Foundation's goals of serving the community."
From programs that enhance the quality of care and improve continuity of care to the coordination of specialty care services to community-based primary care providers and health centers, the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center is the largest voluntary, not-for-profit health care system that addresses health care issues affecting South and Central Bronx residents. For more than a century, this community organization has provided quality health care to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay for services.
