Funds raised at CASMA's spring conference to benefit The Montréal Children's Hospital

Mondial Assistance and the Computerized Airline Sales and Marketing Association (CASMA) announced today that a fundraiser held during a reception at CASMA's spring conference in Montréal raised enough money to purchase a saturation/end tidal carbon dioxide monitor for the Department of Anesthesia at The Montréal Children's Hospital. This state-of-the-art equipment will be used in the operating rooms while young patients are undergoing complex surgeries.

“The Montréal Children's Hospital Foundation is a wonderful organization”

Mondial and CASMA co-sponsored a similar fundraiser last fall during the CASMA conference in Las Vegas that benefited Miracle Flights for Kids, a Las Vegas-based charity. The overwhelming success of the fall event, due in large part to CASMA members and suppliers' generosity, prompted them to come together during the spring conference to raise funds for another local charity, The Montréal Children's Hospital Foundation.

Says Valerie Frost, Director of Special Events at The Children's Foundation: "We are very grateful that Mondial and CASMA chose to support the young patients at The Children's. Our hospital relies heavily on the support of the community to meet its most urgent needs in terms of equipment, research and special projects. We cannot thank all of the participants and sponsors enough for their kind generosity, particularly during these difficult economic times."

The funds were raised through sales of raffle tickets during a one-hour reception at The Hyatt Regency Montréal. Raffle prizes were donated by Mondial, ARC, O.A.G. and WinAir, and included Bose headphones, airline ticket vouchers, Kindle Readers and an iPad. Mondial also made a $1,000 contribution that was donated directly to The Children's Hospital Foundation.

"The Montréal Children's Hospital Foundation is a wonderful organization," said Mark Pond, President of CASMA. "As a leading trade group for the airline industry, we are pleased to partner with Mondial Assistance in helping raise money for The Children's Hospital Foundation. This event has generated a great deal of excitement among our attendees and we hope to continue partnering with Mondial to make this an annual part of our spring conferences."
