Radio show on ways to reduce sugar intake and live healthier

Monday, April 5th at 7pm EDT (4pm PDT) on the Telonauts Hour Radio Show Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum MD, author of Beat Sugar Addiction Now, will join longevity expert Dr. Dave Woynarowski MD and fitness pioneer Greta Blackburn, both of Telonauts.com, to discuss ways people can reduce their sugar intakes and live healthier, less sugar-addicted lives.  

Blackburn and Woynarowski, who are co-authors of the upcoming book The Immortality Edge (Wiley and Sons, Jan. 2011), will be joined by impresario Michael Jacobson as well for a multi-viewpoint discussion on getting to better health and vitality.

Some of the planned discussion questions are:

  1. What is sugar addiction and how do you know you are an addict?   Is it genetic or do you acquire it from habits?  Is sugar really more addictive than Cocaine?
  2. What are some foods that contain "hidden" sugar that most people would not realize?
  3. What is the difference between High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) and sugar and how does the body handle them differently?
  4. The food industry is touting "real sugar" over HFCS, is there any benefit to this or is it just marketing hype?
  5. Are artificial sweeteners as deadly as some people think and what might be the natural alternatives for those who want to sweeten things without chemicals?
  6. Is type 2 diabetes curable at some point and why do so many people have it now--is it inactivity, diet or both?
  7. What is the role of stress in sugar addiction and what do you recommend to handle stress eating?
  8. What is your favorite diet/exercise?
  9. What blood tests do you recommend people get to see how their body is handling sugar?
  10. Are there any supplements you recommend to people who have a sugar addiction problem, or have abnormal blood sugars?
  11. The goal of the show is to give people real and useful information that they can immediately put into practice to improve their health.
