No doughnut hole in global mail-order pharmacy

Thanks to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010, Medicare enrollees who enter the dreaded "doughnut hole" -- the Medicare Part D coverage gap that has made seniors responsible for all their drug costs between $2,830 and $6,440 -- will save $250 in 2010. But Betterthanmedicare.com (BTM, http://www.betterthanmedicare.com) is already saving seniors thousands of dollars, because the global mail-order pharmacy has no doughnut hole.

"Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, seniors in the doughnut hole will save 50% on brand-name drugs in 2011. For the typical senior, that adds up to about a $700 savings," explained BTM General Manager Gary Ryan. "The Act further promises to close the doughnut hole in 2020. It's certainly nothing to sneeze at, but the fact is that BTM is saving seniors thousands of dollars right now and keeping people out of the doughnut hole altogether."

Offering discounts of up to 75% off U.S. retail prices on quality, name-brand prescription medications, BTM is a real alternative to Medicare. Although the company focuses primarily on serving those over the age of 65 who are eligible for Medicare Part D, anyone can enroll in BTM to save thousands of dollars each year.

BTM achieves its low prices through partnerships with leading pharmaceutical suppliers and passes its considerable savings to consumers. Most drugs available through BTM are sourced from Canada, the U.K., India, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, where manufacturing controls are comparable to those required of U.S. drug manufacturers. But unlike other mail-order pharmacies sourcing from outside the U.S., BTM is actually able to beat Medicare prices. There are no deductibles or restrictions, and enrollment is free.

"The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ensures that Medicare will become more affordable for seniors in time," Ryan said. "But in the decade until then, people over 65 continue to face tough choices about how to afford their prescription medications on top of their other expenses. BTM offers those folks a way to make their medications affordable before the Medicare doughnut hole is closed."
