Second Annual Superhero event to drive awareness for child abuse prevention

It's a bird, it's a plane - yes, that's Superman making his way through North Park along with the rest of his Super Friends in the Second Annual Superhero 5K/1K Run/Walk, a unique event designed to drive awareness for child abuse prevention and support organizations that rehabilitate and heal the victims of abuse.

What: Every child needs a hero. But abused children need superheroes. Every day, four children die as a result of neglect or abuse. On April 17, Ariba, Inc. will join forces with the Superhero Foundation to help break this cycle and host the Second Annual Superhero 5K/1K Run/Walk, a special event to benefit Family Resources of Pittsburgh.

When: Saturday, April 17, 2010

Where: North Park Lodge

Registration time: 8:00 a.m.

Start time: 9:00 a.m.

Cost: $20 prior to event (register today at www.superherorun.com or at http://www.active.com/running/allison-park-pa/pittsburgh-superhero-foundation-runwalk-2010) or $25 on event day for ages 16 and older, $10 prior to the event for ages 10 - 15 or $15 on event day. Free for children under 10.
