Members of the Springfield community turned out in force to support the comprehensive treatment services provided to adults and teens by Gateway Foundation's Alcohol and Drug Rehab's Springfield Treatment Center at an April 14 Open House.
Attendees included representatives from local hospitals, schools, the Illinois Air National Guard, the Department of Children and Family Services, probation and parole officers, insurance companies, numerous community groups, as well as many State of Illinois officials.
"At Gateway Foundation, we are proud to provide Springfield and the surrounding communities with the highest quality, most comprehensive alcohol and drug rehab services," said Michael Darcy, CEO of Gateway Foundation. "This partnership between so many diverse community groups and Gateway demonstrates a true commitment to providing real answers for substance abuse recovery in Central Illinois."
Nick Gantes, Gateway Foundation Vice President of Community Services, agreed. "Gateway is thankful that the attendees see substance abuse treatment and recovery support services as essential to the health and well-being of Illinois. We appreciate their solidarity and continuing support of our Springfield facility."
The Springfield center, located about 10 blocks from the state capitol, offers residential drug rehab and alcohol treatment and After Work/After School outpatient treatment programs for adults and teens living in Central Illinois. These programs combine education, group counseling, individual counseling and self-study, plus family education and counseling. Aftercare treatment, which helps individuals transition from more intense levels of care during the early stages of substance abuse recovery to more moderate levels, also is available at this facility.
Kerry Henry, Executive Director at Springfield, led supporters on a tour of the newly remodeled facility, which includes updated living areas and modern treatment rooms, as well as a state-of-the-art workout room.
"Gateway Foundation's highly-trained team includes doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, licensed behavioral health care professionals and addiction counselors. Our dedicated professionals provide a holistic, collaborative approach to substance abuse treatment by taking the time to understand each individual's special needs," Henry said.
In addition to this Springfield facility, Gateway Alcohol and Drug Rehab operates eight other treatment centers located throughout the state. Gateway, a national leader in substance abuse treatment services, is headquartered in Illinois and serves more than 29,000 adults and teens each year.
Gateway works hand-in-hand with healthcare providers, insurance companies, local communities, schools, businesses and government agencies to respond to the ever-changing needs of people seeking drug rehab and alcohol treatment. It employs a staff of experts, including physicians, psychologists, nurses and certified substance abuse counselors who use evidence-based treatment plans tailored specifically to each patient.
