Today, Isis Maternity, The Place for Expecting and New Moms, becomes Isis, Parenting Starts Here. This change reflects the breadth of education, products and community that Isis delivers to its clients. Since opening its doors in 2003, Isis has helped more than 35,000 families navigate early parenting from pregnancy to preschool. Isis operates four bustling centers in Arlington, Boston, Brookline and Needham. Growth plans include at least one more Boston-area location and a move to another major market in the coming year. In addition, Isis supports an extended community of parents online, on www.isisparenting.com.
"Isis Parenting makes navigating childbirth and parenting easier, less stressful and more joyful – parents tell us every day that they can't imagine having had their baby without Isis," said Johanna Myers McChesney, President and CEO of Isis Parenting. "Many parents didn't realize that Isis offers programs and products that extend through the first three years of parenting and child development. Today we're serving many more parents long beyond maternity – parenting truly starts here."
Parenting Starts Here
Each Isis Parenting center offers access to experienced parenting professionals, including childbirth educators, lactation consultants, child development specialists, massage therapists and fitness experts. Some of the most popular Isis classes include Prepared Childbirth, Newborn Essentials, Breastfeeding Basics, Great Beginnings, Sleep Support and the new Jelly Jam Tots toddler movement and music class.
"Isis Parenting's instructors include many of Boston's most qualified and experienced prenatal and new parent professionals," said Nancy Holtzman RN, BSN, IBCLC, Vice President of Isis Parenting Education. "Our team is committed to providing comprehensive and research-based information, guidance and support, in a warm and nurturing environment. Our programs offer education and community at critical times in the life of the new parent."
Isis Parenting gives back to the community through the Isis Community Fund. These funds are used to help families of all means access essential classes and services to prepare them for parenting. Isis teaches dozens of prenatal classes in community health centers each year and also offers scholarship opportunities to families in need.
