ACTS Retirement-Life Communities announces affiliation with PUMH, Heron Point

ACTS' family of CCRCs expands into Delaware and Maryland

ACTS Retirement-Life Communities, one of the nation's largest not-for-profit senior living organizations, today announced that it has completed an affiliation with the Peninsula United Methodist Homes, Inc. (PUMH) and Heron Point of Chestertown (Heron Point), and will assume management and operation of four continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in Delaware and Maryland.

PUMH is a not-for-profit organization that owns three communities in Delaware: Methodist Country House in Greenville; Methodist Manor House in Seaford; and Cokesbury Village in Hockessin. Heron Point is in Chestertown, Maryland. Collectively the four communities are home to approximately 1,000 residents. ACTS has grown from a single location in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania in 1972, to now serving more than 9,000 seniors at 23 locations in eight states.

"This impressive group of first-class communities and mission-driven team members is an excellent addition to the ACTS family," said ACTS President and Chief Executive Officer Marvin Mashner. "Their dedication to the comfort and care of seniors in accordance with instructions in the Scriptures is consistent with the culture of our company, and complements our desire to grow our ministry along the eastern seaboard."

ACTS communities provide a mix of residential living, assisted living and skilled care accommodations on a single campus. Each community features a wide range of amenities and services including multiple dining venues, a wellness center, transportation and a full calendar of social activities and events.
