Third International Epilepsy Colloquium to be hosted in Cleveland

May 19-22

About 200 epilepsy specialists, neurosurgeons and pediatric neurologists from around the nation and the world are registered to attend the Third International Epilepsy Colloquium in Cleveland from May 19 to 22. The conference is sponsored by the Neurological Institute at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

The colloquium will feature a distinguished international faculty that includes everybody who has made significant contributions to the highly specialized field of extratemporal lobe epilepsy. Progress has been made in the precise identification of the brain zones where seizures begin and to a more successful surgery of patients with this form of epilepsy. Extratemporal lobe epilepsy refers to seizures arising in the front, base and middle portions of the brain.

The program will be held at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.

Next year's International Epilepsy Colloquium will be held in Marburg, Germany, and the one scheduled for 2012 will be in Lyon, France.
