The National Safety Council today announced it will offer free emergency care training during National CPR & AED Awareness Week (June 1-7). First Aid and CPR with AED is a three-hour online course that teaches participants how to respond should someone need assistance. First aid topics include breathing emergencies, sudden illness and injury, and bleeding. The free course is made possible through a sponsorship by HeartSine Technologies, Inc.
"The National Safety Council thanks HeartSine for supporting National CPR & AED Awareness Week," said Janet Froetscher, NSC president and CEO. "By supplying lifesaving AEDs in locations around the world, HeartSine helps improve the odds of survival for individuals suffering from sudden cardiac arrest."
"HeartSine is pleased to partner with the National Safety Council to support this vital effort of providing training to people to address sudden cardiac arrest, a leading cause of death. SCA accounts for an estimated 325,000 deaths in the United States alone and is preventable in many cases with the use of an AED and the provision of CPR," said Gregory Cash, HeartSine president and CEO.
