Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat continues to provide much needed services to the people of Haiti

Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat, a San Diego based OB-Gyn surgeon and intuitive healer is returning July 1st to Haiti, the land of her birth, to continue assisting in the humanitarian effort for that devastated country. She has assisted in coordinating a team of 50 doctors, dentists and other emergency medical professionals to accompany her to provide much needed services to the people of Haiti.

"This multi disciplinary team is giving their time and donating their vacations to help relieve the ongoing needs and suffering of Haitians, men, women and children, especially children. As they face the 2010 hurricane season without their houses, schools, jobs and families, and for some, without their arms or legs, all lost during the devastation of the earthquake, their greatest hope is for others to continue to help them," said Dr. Carolle, whose Angels for Haiti Project has a special focus for children.

"In addition to the medical relief efforts, we'll be sponsoring the International Children's Day of Peace while in Haiti," Dr. Carolle explained. "The kids will experience one day free from their concerns and worry. They'll have fun all day long and we will feed them breakfast and lunch. This is our ninth year putting on this event. The children look forward to it like an American child would look forward to a day at Disneyland."

"As we continue to address new medical emergencies and to follow up on earlier ones, we see mounting evidence that much of the population is severely traumatized from PTSD – post traumatic stress disorder-  much like our own U.S. returning military veterans," Dr. Carolle continued. "We are going to address this medical problem by training local Haitians in PTSD relief therapies. We want to be able to leave a lasting effect that will empower earthquake sufferers to regain their full strengths and capabilities."

Dr. Carolle is seeking support and sponsors for this mission of mercy. The cost per child for the International Children's Day is $10.00 and they expect between 3000-5000 children to attend. To train the local population in PTSD therapy costs $150.00 per trainee.
