Omnicell, Inc., (Nasdaq: OMCL) a leading provider of system solutions to acute healthcare facilities, today announced that its OmniCenter® server has achieved VMware Ready™ status. This designation indicates that OmniCenter has passed a detailed evaluation and testing process managed by VMware and is now listed on the VMware Partner Product Catalog.
Passing the extensive VMware-specified testing helps ensure that OmniCenter makes best use of VMware technology and is ready for deployment in customer environments.
"We are pleased that the OmniCenter qualifies for the VMware Ready™ logo, signifying to customers that it has passed specific VMware testing and interoperability criteria and is ready to run their mission-critical business applications and operations," said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware.
"We confirm that the OmniCenter can be supported in a virtual environment, fully compatible with our systems and ready for use at Providence Health," said Marcelo Lang, provincial manager, server and storage infrastructure, British Columbia Health Authority Shared Services Organization. Ron Wall, pharmacy IS coordinator, Providence Health Care, added, "Omnicell's partnership with VMware will allow us to fully leverage the benefits of our virtual infrastructure, reducing datacenter costs and supporting key technology initiatives at PHC."
The VMware Ready program is a VMware co-branding program for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. With more than 1,200 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
